I've got some autocross videos from last weekend, hope you all like them. The event was the Alabama SCCA event 7. That's down in Birmingham, which is not my usual region, but this was a special event. Every year during October my club, TVR, has a friendly competition against the AL region.
It's called North Vs. South. They have some formula to determine the winning club based on participation and results. This was the South event, where I think we had a decent showing.
Grip was at a premium the whole day. The parking lot had been recently sealed, which turned it very slippery. Cars were spinning all over the course.
On several of my runs, I decided to find the grip limits and drive like I was at a rallycross. Plenty of big slides, but a slow time.
In the end, I think I did pretty well. I'm still on the Prius tires, but the new 5mm spacers seemed to help a bit. I only ended about 0.6 s behind another FR-S which had spacers, good tires, and lightweight wheels.
This weekend will be crazy. I'm hoping to do three events in two days. Saturday morning will be rallycross, where I'll test the strength of the new wheel studs I put in (one of the stock ones bent last time.) Saturday night will be our night slalom, which should be fun. I've never autocrossed in the dark before. I might go full Stig and wear my fire suit as a costume. Sunday morning is the North portion of the North Vs. South. I'm excited.
If you're in the Huntsville area, check out !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to do some racing!

I would definitely check it out if I still lived there and had a car that is track-able. So I'm just going to sulk it up down here in Florida.

Yes! There is a Honda plant outside Birmingham. I talked to the guy who was driving it. They make the Honda v6 that goes into a bunch of stuff and they get a small budget to build track cars. He said the Odyssey was at around 300hp. Slicks in the front, roll cage and harness inside. Still somehow street legal. He drove it to the event on street tires.
